In the current global business environment when disputes arise out of foreign trade and other international economic transactions, it is a common practice to refer them to international arbitration (arbitration courts). This function is usually performed by courts under Chambers of Commerce, for example, the ICC International Court of Arbitration, Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, and others.
In Kazakhstan the practice of referral of international economic disputes to international arbitration is also gaining momentum. In this regard an international arbitration court has been established under the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
